VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Two people are displaced and a cat is missing after a house fire in Virginia Beach Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to the 2000 block of Icon Court at around 4:30 p.m. When crews got to the home, there was heavy smoke and flames showing from the roofline on the left side of the home.

The Virginia Beach Fire Department said crews were able to get the fire out in roughly 30 minutes.

A mother and daughter are displaced and a cat is missing. VBFD said a dog was rescued.

VBFD crews responded to a house fire on Icon Court today where they rescued a dog. After receiving oxygen, the dog slowly recovered & was turned over to Animal Control. Unfortunately a cat is still missing. No other injuries. Cause of the fire is under investigation. #rescue #pet pic.twitter.com/owtXQaYfXT
